In the buildup to SLN airdrop distribution, several top cryptocurrency exchanges have announced support for the Smart Layer Network token.
Smart Layer, a programmable blockchain-based service network that addresses the challenges of integration, privacy, and trust in the digital landscape, recently announced its first community airdrop.
Smart Layer Network Airdrop
Designed to reward users who registered early and contributed to the development of Smart Layer, the fast-approaching airdrop distribution will mark the launch of the much-anticipated SLN token.
Notably, SLN is the native utility and governance token of Smart Layer. While its primary use case is to secure and fuel the Smart Layer Network, SLN is also a key driver of other tools in the Smart Layer ecosystem like the Smart Layer Launchpad.
Per the Wednesday announcement, eligible users will be able to claim their SLN tokens from February 23 to March 24, 2024. “Any unclaimed SLN tokens will be transferred back to our Community Incentive Pool for future use,” the team wrote.
The airdrop comprises 2,000,000 SLN tokens, representing 2% of the Smart Layer token’s total supply capped at 100,000,000. Moreover, SLN airdrop eligibility is based on a dual-tier allocation system, tagged Tier 1 and Tier 2.
While the most active users and contributors on Smart Layer constitute Tier 1, Tier 2 users accommodate all those who contributed a chance to participate via a lottery system.
OKX and KuCoin Support SLN
Ahead of the Smart Layer airdrop, many centralized crypto exchanges have announced support for SLN. Amongst these digital assets trading platforms are OKX, Kucoin and Gate.io.
In particular, the Singapore-based crypto exchange OKX listed the Smart Layer Network token on its spot trading market on February 21, 2024. While it opened SLN deposits for users on the same day, SLN/USDT spot trading and withdrawals will be enabled after the airdrop.
Likewise, KuCoin listed SLN against USDT on its spot markets on Thursday. SLN listings come shortly after both exchanges added JUP and ICE among their supported cryptocurrencies.
