Ripple has again executed its monthly rebalancing by moving 1 billion XRP across several internal wallets, with 700 million XRP locked back into escrow. The San Francisco-based company’s standard monthly operation continues amid no observed escrow XRP release for May 2025, raising questions among XRP watchers.

Ripple Internal Wallets Move 1B XRP

The latest rebalancing occurred on May 1 and involved two primary sending addresses—Ripple (26) and Ripple (27). Ripple (26) wallet began the activity, transferring 500 million XRP in two parts. According to Whale Alert, 300 million XRP was first sent to Ripple (1) address, and 200 million XRP was later transferred to Ripple (14).

Ripple (27) followed suit, also moving 500 million XRP. The wallet moved 300 million XRP to Ripple (14), 30 million XRP to Ripple (15) and 170 million XRP to Ripple (51).

In total, the transfers redistributed 1 billion XRP across four receiving wallet addresses: Ripple (1) received 300 million XRP, Ripple (14) accumulated 500 million XRP, Ripple (15) got 30 million XRP, while Ripple (51) was sent 170 million XRP.

Ripple Locks 700M XRP Escrow

Notably, Ripple (14) has locked all 500 million XRP it received into escrow. Likewise, Ripple (15) and Ripple (51) have moved the 30 million XRP and 170 million XRP tokens received into escrow, respectively.

Therefore, the combined total of these re-locked assets is 700 million XRP, valued at approximately $1.547 billion at current market rates.

Ripple (1), which holds the remaining 300 million XRP, has not moved the tokens to escrow as of this writing.

In other words, Ripple has not observed any May 2025 escrow release, showing a similar pattern from April. Last month, the crypto solutions company rebalanced 1 billion XRP and re-locked 700 million on the first of the month, with a delayed escrow release of 1 billion XRP observed two days later. Whether the May XRP unlocks by Ripple will follow the same delayed pattern remains to be seen.

XRP in the Market

The XRP price remains relatively flat despite broader market gains, Ripple’s XRP movements, XRP ETFs buzz and potential acquisition of Hidden Road. XRP trades at $2.23 as of this writing, down 0.8% over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, bitcoin (BTC) has surged back to $98,000, highlighting a market recovery that XRP has yet to fully join.
