Shiba Inu launches ShibHub

Shiba Inu has teamed up with the Content Delivery and Security Association (CDSA), an international organization of security executives across media and entertainment to battle the prevailing concerns posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The positive development underscores Shiba Inu’s mission to utilize blockchain technology in proffering consequential solutions.  Per the Friday report, the SHIB team plans to propose and develop a blockchain-based solution for the media and entertainment industry, becoming the first layer 2 blockchain to tread this path.

“We look forward to providing a unique and blockchain-first perspective to CDSA’s work in helping media and entertainment executives better utilize these innovative technologies, especially as blockchain and artificial intelligence converge,” the pseudonymous Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama said, as revealed in the announcement.

The expected solution from the SHIB team will be focused on content security and distribution following the rise in AI-driven concerns, including plagiarism and deepfakes. Notably, deepfakes refer to manipulated videos or images that use AI to replace a person’s likeness with someone else’s, often convincingly.

Plagiarism, on the other hand, is the act of using someone else’s work, ideas, or creations and passing them off as one’s own without proper attribution or permission. While deepfakes alter visual content, plagiarism involves intellectual property (IP) infringement.

Founded in 1970, the Content Delivery and Security Association (CDSA) describes itself as “the worldwide forum advocating the innovative and responsible delivery and storage of entertainment, software, and information content.” According to Kusama, “CDSA members are the biggest names in media and entertainment, from the studios to the key partners that are part of the global ecosystem.”

Overall, Shiba Inu’s collaboration is expected to help CDSA explore blockchain-based solutions specific to the media and entertainment sector — possibly focusing on Shibarium.

Launched in August 2023 and recently integrated into Tangem wallet, Shibarium is Shiba Inu’s layer 2 blockchain and scaling solution. At press time, Shibarium has recorded over 414 million total transactions, with over 1.6 million wallet addresses connected to the blockchain, as per Shibariumscan data.
